Parting is such sweet sorrow

I think William wrote that… but what do I know?  I wouldn’t know culture if it had invaded a coffee cup left under my bed for three weeks.

However, it is time to say ‘Ciao’. On June 30th a rowdy rabble descended on Scruffy Murphy’s in Windsor Street, Uxbridge.  In fairness, this would not have been counted as anything out of the ordinary for a Saturday night but, on this occasion it was not the usual crowd hell-bent on getting pissed as newts before the 11pm bell, rather it was a mix of ageless and aged buddies paying their respects to yours truly.

Apparently, a party is never complete without a little Charlie to help things along.  Well this evening Charlie was ever present, courtesy of the tattooed bald bloke from the Barbers shop - here's the team photo, complete with Charlie:

From the left:

Jason – the Flashpacker

Isobel – sweetheart and owner of one of the world most mentally challenged cats

Greg - Aptly named gregarious mad yank

Charlie - always there when there's a party

Lee – An extraordinarily humorous, witty and charitable chap with two very large Alsatians (so don’t argue with the description)

Josanne - glamorous girlfriend of the chap taking the picture whilst precariously perched on two wobbly white plastic chairs (aka Nigel)

Flack – London's most unassuming hi-tech recruitment man and Saab driver: if you need a placement or executive look him up at www.bryteone.co.uk (well I have to sponsor this somehow eh?)

Emma – Who allegedly has an electric tongue, possibly due the fact it has a Van DeGraff generator piercing it

Ralph – Bald (well almost) tattooed Barber of Uxbridge (also known as “prince Albert”)

Vic - dive master and first boss who gave me my "big break".  Another great friend who is always there.

All in all a great party - one I shall long remember.  We drank Guinness, Greg smoked a cigar larger than himself, everyone made new contacts and several new business ideas sprang up. And, to get me ready for Australian bars, there was a brawl.
