Having
had such a great time on the Kakadu tour, I've decided
to take another organised tour. This time its with Adventure Tours and a
group of 21 fellow campers.
Its
a three day tour and led by the inimitable Matt (or 'Matty') who keeps us
amused with a superb mix of facts on the local fauna and geology, aboriginal
stories and stupid games such as 'bus bingo' and first to put an object on the
roof lights such as a wallet, a pen, a sock, a bum and other anatomical parts...
the Grey Growlers, of whom I am a member, win outright - though Matty may have
been biased by the fact that the other group members are all lovely ladies.
Its
another great mix of characters - Steve, who has jacked in his job too (and who
later joins me on the trip to Cairns), two girls from the Netherlands (Analise
and Monica),
several
pairs of crazy brit girls (including my good friends Ruth and Kirsty), a chap
from Japan who looked like Kane from Kung-Fu and even a beer swilling paddy to
keep me company!
Add to this a tattooed American called
'Kidd' whose best friends are in drug
rehab and French Canadian who loudly sings 'how do you like my fire' to
accompany 'come on baby light my fire' by the Doors and what have you got?
Yep, Mattys group.
