Darwin Centenial Park Sunset.jpg (50294 bytes)Escaping the rain and low temperatures of Sydney, I fly to Darwin - top dead centre.  Here it is hot, and dry, very dry.

I am now in a different county - The Northern Territory - a place of extremes...

At the top, around Darwin, are several national parks which flood during the wet season - I visit Kakadu, a park which is largely accessible only by 4x4.

After a week here, I head south along the Stuart Highway which leads some 1,600 km to Alice Springs.  For this journey, I am joined by an American undergrad student (Justin) and we have several adventures as we pass through Katherine and the Devils Marbles park finally arriving in Alice 3 days after leaving Darwin.  As I've said before, ts a big country this - very big.
