I'm joined on my journey around Australia by my lovely lady, Isobel - Olympic smiler, Bonne-vivant and sock washer/tea lady (as if!).

Beginning in the far North of Queensland, the journey continues up into the wilderness of Cape Tribulation and its abundant Rainforests, mountains and suspension bending potholed 'roads'.  And this is one part of the trip we'll remember for a while - the bruises from road being good reminders... 

Returning in a James Bond style (shaken, not stirred), we head back to Cairns for some R&R and join the motley crew of the Aquarius 3 for a 6 day trip out to the Coral Sea to dive the Great Barrier Reef.  Where I feed the fish on the first night and win a 'Wombat' award.

Then its South, towards Brisbane via Mission Beach, Townsville and the Whitsunday Islands.

No more scrubland and red dust - just lush greenery and flat calm seas...  Life is good.
