After our detours, we arrive in
the Port Glenelg suburb of Adelaide
around nine and found a nice room that opened out into an underground car park -
a little disconcerting but comfortable none the less. We took a look around the
area, finding a disco/band combination in a local hostelry - or hostile-ry -
which Phil aptly dubbed 'The Flying Bottle'.
Its a pretty part of town, and apparently the City itself is worth a look
around. For us however, there was only one agenda item given that out train to
Perth would leave in a couple of days - a look around the
Barossa Valley.
Returning
from the Valley, we spend a few hours in Adelaide proper - playing pinball. A
short cab ride then takes us to our train - a half kilometre machine of steel
called the Indian Pacific which will be our home for the next two days. Its been
a short visit to South Australia, but memorable - next stop, the capital of
West Australia, Perth...
